The ANENG DM850 Multimeter requires a 9V battery (model 6F22) for operation. Follow these steps to install the battery:

To measure DC current, the multimeter must be connected in series with the circuit. Connect the probe in series at both ends of the dot line to measure DC current. For example, measuring the current of a fan connected to a battery.

IMPORTANT WARNING for AC Current Measurement: Do NOT directly contact the multimeter probes with AC current sources like measuring voltage. Direct contact will burn out the instrument! Always connect the multimeter IN SERIES with the circuit when measuring current.
